The Aston Martin RapidE Concept has been produced by the British automaker and Williams Advanced Engineering and was unveiled in London to visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Aston Martin chief executive Andy Palmer previously announced his desire for a fully-electric Rapide variant with 1000 hp. Rather than 1000 hp, this initial concept pumps out a total of 550 hp but as of yet, no further technical details or specifications about its powertrain are available.
The concept was produced due to demand from Chinese investors for such a model. Some time later an agreement has been announced between Aston Martin and ChinaEquity, a Chinese investment group, to explore the potential of putting the car into production at Aston’s headquarters in Gaydon.
The exciting RapidE concept tangibly demonstrates the capability and ambition of Aston Martin towards developing low- and zero-emission sports cars.
